Many coffee lovers and individuals in need of a peaceful retreat
face the challenge of securing a table and ordering coffee
conveniently at their favorite café. This inconvenience hinders
their ability to enjoy a stress-free coffee experience. How might we
address this issue and enhance the user experience by designing a
cafe app that enables seamless coffee orders and advance table
reservations?
Outcome
Create an app for a café that provides a sanctuary for those
seeking relaxation or a quick coffee meetup. This app should enable
users to easily order coffee and make advance reservations for
tables.

Hypothesis
If we develop a coffee ordering app with user-friendly features and
efficient advance reservation capabilities, we anticipate that it
will significantly improve the overall customer experience, increase
cafe patronage, and boost sales by simplifying the coffee ordering
process and ensuring table availability.
Competitive Analysis
In a competitive landscape, While competitors may offer some of
these features individually, our comprehensive approach provides a
unique value proposition, positioning us as a leading choice in the
coffee app market.

Findings
My research revealed that my app's closest competitors have overly
simplistic visual aesthetics, which can lead to less user-friendly
interactions and a lack of design clarity. This limitation may
result in potential customers abandoning their search without
fulfilling their intended objectives.
This represents a significant opportunity for the Soul Cafe app to
enhance the user experience within the cafe marketplace!

UX Inspiration
The Doordash mobile
app has been a real inspiration for UX design. It's just so
user-friendly and intuitive. I love how easy it is to place an
order, track it in real-time, and get those personalized food
suggestions. It's like they really get what we need. DoorDash has
set the bar for user-friendly food delivery apps with its clear
menus, responsive design, and great looks, making it a go-to choice
for many of us and a shining example for UX designers.
Paper Wireframes
I kicked things off with some rough sketches on paper, using a
trusty pencil. Then, I progressed to creating more detailed mid and
high-fidelity wireframes in Figma.

Style Guide
My approach to use Typography, Iconography, Colors and Logo to
efficiently plan and use only these elements to guide myself to come
up with designs within these design specifications has given me a
good challenge.

Learnings
The fast-paced design project underscored my ability to adapt, as I
applied my design skills within a tight schedule. This pushed me to
utilize available space efficiently and purposefully.
Looking Forward
UX designers will need to focus on enhancing accessibility,
personalization, and cross-device consistency. Furthermore, they
should prioritize sustainability and ethical design practices,
aligning with the dynamic digital landscape and the growing emphasis
on user privacy and inclusivity.
